PSL 11 2026 Opening Match Preview: Lahore Qalandars vs Hyderabad Kingsmen

The first match of PSL 11 is at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 26 March 2026. Lahore Qalandars are the home team and the defending champions. They have won the title three times. Hyderabad Kingsmen are new. They are one of two new teams in the league this season and this will be their first ever PSL game.

Lahore Qalandars are the home side. They won PSL 10 by beating Quetta Gladiators in the final. Hyderabad Kingsmen are one of two new franchises. The other is Rawalpindi Pindiz. Both new teams built their squads at the auction on 11 February 2026.

The opening ceremony is at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 26 March. Gates open at 3:30 PM. The first match is later the same day in Lahore. The season has 44 matches in total. The final is on 3 May 2026.

Form and titles

Lahore have won PSL three times. That is joint most with Islamabad United. They are the team to beat at home.

Squad and key names

Shaheen Afridi is the captain. He leads the bowling attack. Fakhar Zaman opens the batting and scores runs quickly when he gets in. Sikandar Raza adds runs and wickets in the middle order. Haris Rauf bowls fast and can take wickets early and late. Abdullah Shafique gives depth at the top.

The squad was updated at the PSL 11 auction. The core that won the title is still there. Lahore will want to start with a win and protect their home record.

New franchise

Hyderabad are new to PSL. They have no past results. Only a chance to make a first impression.
